The PISA delegation visited NEHHDC for the second time following their highly successful initial visit, further strengthening collaboration in the promotion of Northeast India's rich handloom and handicraft heritage. This time, they brought along 60 skilled artisans and weavers, with 30 specializing in weaving and 30 in tailoring, aiming to enhance their expertise through exposure to advanced facilities and training opportunities. During their visit, the delegation explored key units within NEHHDC, including the NABL-accredited Textile Testing Lab, the Handloom Unit, the Museum-cum-Showroom, and the Center of Excellence, where they gained valuable insights into quality control, traditional weaving techniques, and market positioning. A major highlight of the event was an inspiring speech delivered by Shri Khitish Hazarika (Assistant Manager, Sr. Grade), whose rousing address motivated the artisans, emphasizing the importance of innovation, craftsmanship, and preserving the cultural identity of Northeast textiles. The visit not only reinforced PISA’s commitment to supporting local artisans but also paved the way for future collaborations and skill development initiatives.
