In the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav  and pursuance of the Make in India initiative of the Government of India, a Business Facilitation and Handholding Cell has been set up in the office of the North Eastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation Ltd, Guwahati, under Advisory and Consultancy Division with the objective of guiding, assisting and hand-holding support to potential investors/entrepreneurs, aspiring students, weavers and artisans of the North East Region in handicrafts, handloom and allied industry during various phases of business life cycle.

The Cell is being manned by experts in different segments of textile and handicraft industry to facilitate investors/entrepreneurs, aspiring students, weavers and artisans to provide necessary information on policies of the Ministries, various incentive schemes and opportunities, project support, user experience support, market intelligence, exports etc. and making it convenient for the stakeholders to take investment and entrepreneurial decisions in handicrafts, handlooms and allied sectors.
