In a dedicated endeavor to advance the cause of women’s empowerment and instill entrepreneurial zeal among young cadets, the 48 Assam Naval Unit NCC proudly unveiled its pioneering Social Service and Community Development (SSCD) initiative.

Themed "Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: Forging Paths and Shaping Economics," this innovative program is poised to equip female cadets with vital skills and knowledge. The inauguration ceremony, held on February 21st, witnessed an impressive gathering of nearly 100 NCC girl cadets, each radiating enthusiasm and determination.

Crafted to serve as a springboard for these aspiring entrepreneurs, the event aims to offer a comprehensive platform for career exploration and skill enhancement. Over the span of seven days, cadets will immerse themselves in practical entrepreneurial environments, acquiring invaluable insights and experiences crucial for their future pursuits.

Esteemed representatives from renowned organizations such as the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation (NEHHDC), the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), ACCESS Development Services, and Sishu Sarathi graced the occasion. Through a series of lectures and grooming sessions, cadets will delve into entrepreneurship and women’s empowerment, setting the groundwork for their journey towards success.

What sets this initiative apart is its hands-on approach, with participating organizations extending invitations for field visits to their institutes in Guwahati.

Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, AVSM, VSM, DGMS (Navy), honored the event as the Guest of Honor, commending the 48 Assam Naval Unit for its pioneering efforts in championing women’s empowerment.

In her address to the cadets, Admiral Sarin emphasized the significance of financial independence and self-reliance, urging them to embrace entrepreneurship as a means of realizing their aspirations.

As the curtain lifts on this groundbreaking initiative, the 48 Assam Naval Unit NCC and NEHHDC reaffirms its dedication to empowering young women and shaping a future where entrepreneurship flourishes and barriers are dismantled.
