Celebration of Women's Day - Udoyini 2026

For International Women’s Day, the North Eastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation Ltd. (NEHHDC) hosted UDOYINI, a special event celebrating the achievements and leadership of women across sectors.

Organized by Sunrise Pure Masala in association with Red FM, and supported by Bureau of Indian Standards and Assam Startup, the event took place at the Multipurpose Hall, NEHHDC, Garchuk, Guwahati.

The program was graced by Smt. Moyuri Ojha, ACS, Director, Directorate of Handloom & Textiles, Government of Assam, as the Chief Guest. Shri Mara Kocho, Managing Director of NEHHDC, was also present.

The event featured a panel discussion on “Empowered Women, Empowered Nation”, with distinguished panelists:

• Manju Rani Gogoi Talukdar, Joint Director, Commissioner of Industries & Commerce, Assam

• Anu Devi, Lecturer in Weaving, Assam Textile Institute

• Niranjali Kakoty, Principal, Sualkuchi Institute of Fashion Technology

• Niva Rani Gayan, Senior Lecturer, Indian Institute of Handloom Technology

The program also recognized 15 outstanding women achievers, highlighting inspiring stories of leadership, dedication, and contribution to society.

Events like UDOYINI serve as an important platform to celebrate women’s achievements and encourage dialogue around leadership, opportunity, and inclusion.
