Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 was observed across the North Eastern Handicrafts & Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC) from 27th October to 2nd November 2025, reaffirming the organisation’s unwavering commitment to integrity, transparency, and ethical governance. The week was observed under the national theme “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”
As part of the observance, all employees of NEHHDC, led by the Managing Director, Shri Mara Kocho, took the Integrity Pledge, collectively pledging to uphold honesty, fairness, and accountability in all professional conduct. The pledge ceremony symbolised NEHHDC’s resolve to combat corruption and promote transparent governance at every level.
The pledge was administered across NEHHDC’s key establishments, including the Corporate Office, Ambari Showroom, Eri Silk Spinning Plant at Baksa, and the Purbashree Showroom at Dilli Haat, New Delhi, highlighting a unified organisational commitment that transcends geographical boundaries.
Extending the spirit of vigilance beyond the organisation, NEHHDC also conducted a Community Vigilance Outreach Programme at the Missamari Eco Development Committee Hall, under the Amchang Wildlife Range, Guwahati. The programme aimed to sensitise citizens about the importance of vigilance in public life and the collective role of society in preventing corruption.
The outreach saw active participation from forest officials, local committee leaders, and community members, who engaged in meaningful discussions on ethical practices, public accountability, and fostering a culture of honesty. Participants were encouraged to remain vigilant, report unethical practices, and contribute positively towards building a corruption-free society.
The observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 reflects NEHHDC’s continued dedication to strengthening ethical values within the organisation and the community at large. By promoting awareness, encouraging participation, and leading by example, NEHHDC reiterates that vigilance is not merely a statutory requirement, but a shared responsibility essential for sustainable and transparent development.
NEHHDC remains committed to nurturing a culture of integrity and will continue to undertake initiatives that reinforce public trust and good governance.
