On the 30th of September, 2023, North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC) proudly presented its pioneering project on the Digitalization of Handloom in the North Eastern Region (NER) for the purposes of traceability and authentication. This remarkable display took place at the NE-Volution event, held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
A notable highlight of this event was the distinguished presence of Honorable Prime Minister of India who visited the NEHHDC stall. During his visit, he took the opportunity to personally meet and interact with an artisan from Meghalaya, an individual who is a beneficiary of the Digitalization project. This encounter underscored the significance of this initiative in preserving and promoting the rich heritage of handloom craftsmanship in the NER while enhancing traceability and authentication through digital means.
