NEHHDC inaugurated the Center for Excellence for Apparel, Made-Ups, and Home Furnishing

On May 30, 2024, the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation (NEHHDC) inaugurated the Center for Excellence for Apparel, Made-Ups, and Home Furnishing. The ceremony was a distinguished affair attended by prominent dignitaries, including Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. Of India, New Delhi; Dr. B. Kalyan Chakraborty, Principal Secretary, Govt. Of Assam; Padma Shri Dr. A Sakthivel, Chairman, AMHSSC; Dr. Vijay Kumar Yadav, CEO, AMHSSC; and Brigadier R. K. Singh, MD, NEHHDC. The inauguration of this Center marks a significant milestone in the advancement of the textile industry in the North Eastern region of India. It is poised to become a pivotal hub for enhancing the skills and capabilities of local artisans, enabling them to produce high-quality apparel, made-ups, and home furnishing products. The Center aims to foster innovation, quality, and excellence, providing artisans with access to state-of-the-art facilities and training programs. The distinguished guests  spoke on the occasion, stressing the strategic importance of this initiative in driving sustainable development and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the North East.
