As part of the International Women’s Day celebration on its eve, the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation in collaboration with the NEC and Department of Textiles and Handicrafts (GoAP) conducted a State level Women Entrepreneurs’ Conclave at the DK Convention Hall here today in which over 60 women entrepreneurs participated.
The event was aimed at sensitizing and promoting the women entrepreneurs of the region, and to provide them mentoring and hand holding support.
Swapnil M Naik, Secretary Textiles & Handicrafts and Civil Aviation (GoAP) graced the occasion as chief guest. Other notable guests included Barnali Sur (Director Sericulture), Haj Dodung (Director Textile & Handicrafts), Sadique Mannan (Project Head, APIIP-IIMCIP) and Gautam Huidrom (Faculty, Department of Management, Rajiv Gandhi University), who also looks after the Center of Entrepreneurship of the RGU.
There were also six successful women entrepreneurs of the region as panellists.
With this event, NEHHDC aims to take all the women entrepreneurs, artisans and weavers under one platform and offer them all the necessary support to successfully carry forward in their entrepreneurial journey, and in turn be active contributors to the economy of the NER.
State Level Women Entrepreneurs Conclave was organised by #NEHHDC in collaboration with Institute of Cooperative Management, Manipur on 06-03-23 at Imphal celebrating #InternationalWomensDay2023 to honour the women entrepreneurs of Manipur. 150 potential entrepreneurs and artisans of Manipur attended the conclave.
With a vision to sensitize the women entrepreneurs of Meghalaya, a state level Women Entrepreneurs Conclave was organized in celebration of International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2023 at State Convention Centre, Pinewood, Shillong. The event was attended by more than 200 participants, out of which 95 women entrepreneurs representing various sectors of handloom, handicrafts, agriculture, wellness etc. had participated. The presence of officials from DCIC, Prime Hub, SELCO Foundation, students from Don Bosco Technical Institute also graced the event. The conclave was addressed by many eminent speakers who spoke about entrepreneurship development as well as various startups coming out of Meghalaya. The event was followed by a panel discussion with few established entrepreneurs from the state, who spoke about the various opportunities and challenges in their respective sectors.
