On February 22nd, in Guwahati, the Northeastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC), in collaboration with the 48 Assam Naval Unit NCC, orchestrated an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme tailored specifically for NCC cadets.
The event garnered an enthusiastic turnout of sixty-nine cadets eager to immerse themselves in the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. Over a span of two days, the programme delved into essential entrepreneurial concepts, featuring a series of dynamic group activities, mentorship sessions, and inspiring interactions with seasoned entrepreneurs.
Brigadier R.K Singh (Retd.), the Managing Director of NEHHDC, enlightened the cadets on the significance of fostering entrepreneurship awareness within the NCC framework, emphasizing its pivotal role in shaping future leaders. Dr. Sriparna B. Baruah, Advisor at NEHHDC, provided invaluable insights into the multifaceted realm of entrepreneurship, elucidating its diverse opportunities and potential avenues.
Lieutenant Commander Debanand Doley, Commanding Officer, stressed the importance of collaborative efforts between NEHHDC and the Assam Naval Unit NCC, highlighting the significance of such initiatives in nurturing entrepreneurial spirit among cadets. He passionately encouraged the cadets to explore various sectors ripe with opportunities, inspiring them to embark on entrepreneurial journeys.
The cadets were treated to an insightful tour of NEHHDC’s in-house production unit, testing and calendaring facility, as well as the apparel production training unit, providing them with firsthand exposure to the intricacies of entrepreneurial ventures. Additionally, a session on ‘Business Dynamics of Entrepreneurship’ was conducted, further enriching the cadets’ understanding of the entrepreneurial landscape.
