Two Days Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme successfully conducted for NCC Cadets

Northeastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC), in collaboration with the 48 Assam Naval Unit NCC, recently conducted a dynamic Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme tailored specifically for NCC cadets on 22nd and 23rd February,2024. The initiative drew an enthusiastic attendance of approximately seventy (70) cadets, all eager to immerse themselves in the foundational principles of entrepreneurship. Across a span of two insightful days, the programme delved deep into essential entrepreneurial concepts, offering a diverse array of engaging group activities, mentorship sessions, and illuminating interactions with seasoned entrepreneurs.

Throughout both days, the programme was meticulously designed to incorporate a blend of stimulating group activities, enlightening mentorship sessions, and impactful interactions with accomplished entrepreneurs.

Day one of the programme witnessed an impressive participation of seventy candidates, marking the commencement of an immersive journey into the core concepts of entrepreneurship. One of the highlights was the enlightening tour of NEHHDC's own production facilities, which included a tour of the in-house design and production unit, testing and calendaring facility, as well as the apparel production training unit. This firsthand exposure provided the cadets with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies involved in entrepreneurial ventures within the handicrafts and handloom sectors. Additionally, a dedicated session on the 'Business Dynamics of Entrepreneurship' further enriched the participants' comprehension of the entrepreneurial landscape, equipping them with practical insights and strategic approaches.

On the second day, the programme took a hands-on approach with group assignments, providing cadets with the platform to showcase their innovative business ideas spanning various sectors including waste management, food processing, tourism, handloom and handicrafts, beauty and wellness, and media and entertainment. Noteworthy ventures included proposals for an AI education app, upcycling initiatives, and creative innovations utilizing materials like metal scraps and waste paper. Moreover, the session included valuable interactions with members of the Assam Startup team, offering insights into the practical aspects of launching and managing entrepreneurial endeavors.

An integral component of the programme was the opportunity for cadets to engage with successful entrepreneurs such as 'Srishti Jewellery' and 'Northeast Crafters', who shared their firsthand experiences and the challenges encountered in their respective sectors. This interaction not only provided invaluable insights but also served as a source of inspiration for the aspiring entrepreneurs. Additionally, craft-interested students were afforded networking opportunities with these entrepreneurs and potential industry partners, fostering meaningful connections and potential collaborations.

Overall, the two days Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme emerged as a resounding success, equipping NCC cadets with the requisite knowledge, motivation, and exposure to embark on their entrepreneurial journeys with confidence and conviction.
