Department of Livelihood and Entrepreneurship

The Livelihood and Entrepreneurship Department of NEHHDC is responsible for promoting and supporting livelihood development and entrepreneurship initiatives among the artisans, weavers and entrepreneurs from all sectors of the North Eastern Region.

The department works to promote various livelihood options and opportunities for income-generation by providing training, technical support, and resources to individuals or groups to help them develop sustainable livelihoods. The department facilitates the development of entrepreneurship skills and capabilities among individuals or groups who wish to start or expand their own businesses. This involves providing training, mentoring, and financial support to aspiring entrepreneurs, as well as promoting entrepreneurship culture and fostering innovation.

The Livelihood & Entrepreneurship Department also aims to provide support for business incubation and start-up initiatives, including setting up incubation centers, providing mentoring and guidance to start-ups, facilitating access to funding and resources, and creating an enabling environment for business growth and innovation.

Moreover, the department works to promote financial assistance through financial literacy programs for accessing services such as credit, savings, and insurance.

The L&E department also facilitates linkages between producers and markets by promoting the growth of value chains and enhancing market access for local producers.

The department provides capacity building and training programs to enhance the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of individuals or groups engaged in livelihood and entrepreneurial activities.

The department is also responsible for developing policies, strategies, and programs related to livelihood promotion and entrepreneurship development.
